newsletter - may 2006

dear all.
some news and bits and gigs and things.

glen, marketa, bertrand and marja are just about finishing up their little tourette of ireland in support of the swell season release. their last gig is on may 3rd in the everyman in cork and, contrary to popular belief, there are still tickets left for this show. i think people assume that its sold out, so dont bother to check, but ive been getting a steady stream of 'where can i get a ticket from in desperation' emails this past week - and - i am pointing people to the box office at the everyman who will gladly sell you a ticket :0)

everyman theatre, cork
box office on 021 4501673 or online at www.everymanpalace.com.
also - the same gang will be in HMV, Patrick Street, Cork at 4pm on the 3rd may. they are giving out wristbands on the morning of the instore....first come first served..

the swell season is digitally/physcially available on line world wide from the 5th may everywhere apart from canada and north america...sorry, but youll have to wait for the overcoat release on aug 22nd for those territories. or...order from www.roadrecs.com if you really really cant wait! the following webpage should have a list of websites offering the album:

IRELAND
next stuff...may - 13th - inish bofin - the frames are going to take a little road trip out to the island of inish bofin to play the festival there. All is posted about the arts festival on www.inishbofin.com. the hall only holds 250 people so itll be a real intimate experience... The accommodation listing is already there (and island information) so if any one wants to book accommodation they can go ahead and get them selves sorted for the night. you can ring the Development Office (095-45861) or e mail bofindev@eircom.net to book tickets for the gig. bear in mind that the ferry to and from the mainland stops fairly early so if youre going to this gig, youll have to stay on the island, lest you are the owner of a sailing vessell...! should be fun...we're looking forward to it!

30th june - cork marquee gig. i think you all know about this one by now...a good big tent gig in the showgrounds in cork. tickets from ticketmaster and all the usual outlets.

next up - kinsale arts festival - july 17th, county cork. looking forward to this one too - its set in the beautiful outdoor surroundings of the charles fort, kinsale. i think it holds 600 people or there abouts and the tickets will be on sale in early june i do believe. the site to check out is this - www.kinsaleartsweek.com and there will be box office phone numbers set up online by May 2 so they tell me....

sept 1st - again, this is probably old news by now, but we (the frames), are pleased to say that we're playing the electric picnic. - tix from the usual outlets nationwide...
