few things frames - not a virus - honest
hello all. sunday night. pitch black outside. fireworks going off left right and centre. cat and dog uncharacteristically quiet in a corner. upstairs, daughter unit trying out some halloween costumes and nicking all my make up. mother unit still trying to decide what to go as to our halloween ball type thing next week... ill shut up with the waffle and cut to the chase. heres some stuff you should know:
HALLOWEEN BALL - ireland
october 31st. frames. you may have seen the ads and competions run on rte since friday night - but the bottom line is this. we are running a competition to invite the winners of said comp, to a halloween gig at the mansion house, 8-9.30pm. the good people at RTE2 along with hummingbird productions (the exceptionally good folk who bought us 'other voices') are filming the gig and it will go out live on tele that night at the above times. so - i guess even if you dont win, then you can at least see it. im not sure if it can be watched live on the net - but maybe check out rte's website to see???? anyone out there know?? if you do win, then dress up... it is halloween after all. maybe i should go as louis walsh - he seems pretty scary to me... AND - im going to hand out spot prizes of a pair of tickets to forthcoming gigs for the 5 best dressed there... go on... indulge the inner child... you know you want to.
Competition question: How many studio albums have The Frames released?

NB: Fitzcarraldo counts as one release for all them that know it was re-released minus roger etc etc... and roads outgrown is more of a put together thing and NOT strictly a studio album....
NEXT STOP - LONDON.
we are popping over to london to do an intimate show in bush hall, uxbridge rd, in shepherds bush on november 30th. doors 7.30pm. tix Ł12.50+bkg fee. phone 0871 2200 260. and i beleive donal has a website on our tour dates section for online bookings. tickets may go briskly for this one, so i recomend you get your finger out if you really wanna go. dont know yet who's supporting but will tell ya when i confirm.
for all those that are asking about a uk tour, i am working on that for the back end of january. again - will email when ive confirmed them.
RELEASE DATE WORLD WIDE is feb 8th 2005 on anti records - so, for all those that are asking and mailling and saying that you cant get it in your country, thats because it aint out there yet - sorry. anti need a good bit of lead time to get certain bits and bobs in place and i also need to sort out the touring schedules etc etc, and theres this thing called christmas in the middle too, which tends to make the music industry go a bit wobbly when dealing with a new record. we just snuck out here and in oz, where we're a little further down the road in terms of promotion and all that stuff. roughly though - heres how it looks - uk late jan. european capital cities from feb 8 - 22nd. american major cities from march 1 - march 22 (possibly ending in texas at sxsw). from there, straight to australia and gigging from march 25 - april 1. then home again for a quick sandwhich and a cup of tea before starting the rounds again... as i say, im working on all the above now, so as soon as stuff is confirmed, you'll be the first to know about it.
IRELAND.
while im here, i should let you know that the frames plus special guests have a few christmas shows coming. they will be on sale from nov 5th via ticketmaster. a brace of olympias - dec 20/21/22 and 23. 25europes + bkg fee, so that'll hopefully take the edge off of a few withdrawl symptoms that i keep hearing of... ya cant go wrong with a nice seasonal show can ya?! maybe we should look at doing something on ice with the lads dressed as their favourite disney characters... hmmmm (you may be able to tell that ive induldged in a little red wine action at this point - well - they have just come back from france!)
i should shut up now shouldnt i?
but i cant... sorry... few more things:
glen goes out in the czech republic in november on a solo tour.

the last thing ill say is that waiting room (the group), were on the wrong end of a robbery after they played with the lads in dublin recently. on our messageboard at the top is a list of all the gear that was stolen from them and, just in case, if anyone tries to offer you some gear for sale in an unusual manner and you reckon its from their van, then please contact them - or me - and we'll try to get it back to its rightful owners.
thanks.
love n stuff.
